When I was a kid, I heard James Cleveland’s song “Where is your Faith in God?” many times. It’s ingrained in my heart so much that when I find myself doubting God—the song rises up within me. I’ve learned over the years that God is faithful even when I’m not. He’s faithful to hear and answer my prayers of faith according to His will and not mine. Learn how to find your FAITH:
F – Fight doubt with the shield of faith.
“In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.” (Ephesians 6:16)
A – Activate your faith with the word of God.
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)
I – Increase your measure of faith through prayer.
“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.” (Romans 12:3)
T – Take steps of faith.
“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, ‘You have faith and I have works.’ Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” (James 2:17-18)
H – Have faith in God.
“And Jesus answered them, ‘Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Matthew 11:22-24)
Dear Lord, I pray that You increase my faith to trust in You more every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
