As Jesus and the disciples were pressing their way through a crowd, one woman made up in her mind that she needed to touch Jesus. This woman had been ill with a bleeding condition for twelve years and she spent everything to get help, but she only grew worse. After one touch of Jesus’ garment, she was completely healed.
Many of us need healing—spiritually, mentally, physically, etc. Yet, we haven’t reached out yet and touched Jesus to get the help we need. What was the process leading to her healing?
She heard the reports about Jesus. (Mark 5:27)
What are we listening to? Are we hearing and doing the word of God? It’s the hearing of God’s word that will ignite our faith to trust in Him and His ability to heal our broken parts.
She made up her mind to touch Him. (Matthew 9:21)
What thoughts do we think about Jesus? Have we made up in our minds that healing can come through Jesus? Our thoughts will lead us to faith actions; however, we must fill our minds with God’s word and determine in our hearts to follow after Him.
She reached out and touched the hem of His garment. (Luke 8:44)
When are we going to take the action of reaching out to Jesus? Our faith without works is dead. We need to follow after the actions of this woman to overcome our fears and step out in faith.
She confessed the whole truth of what she did. (Mark 5:33)
Are we ready to share our testimony? When God does His great work in our lives, are we keeping it a secret because we are ashamed? When we honestly speak of God’s healing in our lives to others—it opens the door for their faith to be ignited and placed in Jesus Christ.
Dear Lord, I want to reach out and touch You in faith. Show me the ways I need to do this so I can be free and made whole. In Jesus’ name, amen.
