I don’t know about your life, but I have the uncanny ability to screw things up without realizing it. It’s not that I intend to do wrong, I just get caught up in the moment and I have to repent of things I’ve said or done. It’s in those times that I call upon the grace of God and His unmerited favor covers me when I have no excuse.
Every believer has the favor of God on our lives when we fall short of His glory. This doesn’t mean we have an excuse to sin, but rather it’s His grace that lets us know how deeply we are loved by Him. It’s His grace which keeps us from falling into self-condemnation that Satan will fuel in our minds.
The grace of God is available when we have exhausted everything we know to do. His grace is what will give us hope when we feel hopeless, peace when we feel anxious, courage when we feel afraid, and faith when we want to doubt.
We can’t earn God’s grace, it’s a free and valuable gift given to His children. However, we can give grace to others in the same way that we have received grace from Him. People will sometimes hurt our feelings or disappoint us with their actions. Yet, we can still forgive and give grace to them when they’ve messed up.
God’s grace is amazing! His love and favor towards those who are His followers can’t be measured. We experience new grace and mercy every single day whether we recognize it or not. He keeps heaping grace on us because He wants us to live the victorious life and fulfill the calling He has on each one of us.
Dear Lord, I need Your grace every single day to make it. Help me by your grace to live a righteous life and to give grace to others as I have been given. In Jesus’ name, amen.
