Come-to-Jesus Moment

Divider

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

Numbers 23:19

Have you ever had a come to Jesus moment? Generally, this is an intervention with someone when you really need them to deal with a truth. But have you ever had a “come-to-Jesus moment” with Jesus?

Recently I was bombarded with problems that had no answers. I’d go to sleep trying to figure them out, and I’d wake up trying to figure them out. Finally I got tired of being on the crazy train and decided it was a come-to-Jesus moment. I sat at my window, looked towards the sky, and asked Jesus to give me clarity on recent decisions.

These decisions weren’t made carelessly—I prayed and sought God’s direction and wisdom for them. However, I was struggling to keep up and doubting if I had made the right choices. I held up my Bible and reminded the Lord (as if He needed it—He doesn’t, but I do) that I was following His word. I confessed my sins and shortcomings if they’ve had anything to do with my problems.

Finally, in my come-to-Jesus moment, I told the Lord that I wanted only His will above my will. With that last confession came peace that bypassed my heart and mind. I felt better because in faith I knew that God heard my request and He was going to work it all out.

Knowing that God isn’t like people and won’t ever lie or take back something in the Bible gives us the confidence to move forward in faith. We can take God at His word every single time. He will never ever fail us.

Prayer

Dear Lord, You are my confidence in making decisions and seeking Your wisdom on what to do. I know that Your Word is genuine and truth, so help build my faith to trust You more. In Jesus’ name, amen.
