The grace of God is His unmerited favor over our lives. We are often overwhelmed with the desires of our flesh and our inability to control it. So many of us have thrown up our hands and given up even trying to deal with our weaknesses in the flesh. Paul wrote about his struggle with a thorn in the flesh. We don’t know specifically what Paul was dealing with, but we do know that he asked God three times to take it away. However, God answered him in 1 Corinthians 12:9 that “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” When we are weak, God is strong.

Prayer

Dear Lord, I want to overcome the desires of my flesh but I can’t do it on my own. I pray for Your grace to give me the strength to overcome. In Jesus’ name, amen.
