Do I Really Need to Join a Church?

Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some.

Hebrews 10:25

Multitudes of Christians are growing every day from ministries through media—it’s an excellent way to continue to stretch their faith. However, it can’t replace the local church for believers. Churches aren’t buildings made of brick or stone. It is the living body of Jesus Christ that represents Him until He returns to Earth. The church isn’t made up of perfect people but of people being perfected in the faith. What are the top ten reasons Christians should be actively engaged in church ministries:

1) Being a part of the church is an act of obedience to God’s word. (Hebrews 10:25)

2) Being a part of the church helps you to grow in the faith. (2 Thessalonians 1:3)

3) Being a part of the church gives you opportunity to use your spiritual gifts. (1 Peter 4:10)

4) Being a part of the church allows you to receive prayer when you need it. (James 5:14)

5) Being a part of the church gives opportunity to worship together in unity. (Psalms 102:18)

6) Being a part of the church provides a chance for you to give to others. (2 Corinthians 8:1-5)

7) Being a part of the church grows an awareness of the suffering of others. (1 Peter 5:9)

8) Being a part of the church strengthens your witness of evangelism. (Jude 23)

9) Being a part of the church gives you an opportunity to pray for others. (James 5:16)

10) Being a part of the church encourages your heart when you feel low. (Hebrews 3:13)

Prayer

Dear Lord, I haven’t been consistently committed to a local ministry. I repent and ask that You will lead me to the best place where I can serve You and Your people in the grace given to me. Amen.
