When we see the people we love make bad decision after bad decision again and again…it can be frustrating. We give the best advice and help where we can, yet they continue to move along in the wrong direction. At some point, we need to pull away and pray instead of using our words and actions.
To pull away and pray means that we hand them over to God. In doing so, we recognize that God is ultimately in control and He is trustworthy to do what is necessary to draw their hearts to Him.
To pull away and pray means that we no longer provide a way for them to escape the consequences of their decisions. In doing so, we stop getting in the way of what may need to happen for repentance to take root in their hearts.
To pull away and pray means that we focus more on God than we do on their actions. In doing so, we recognize the power of God to pull loved ones from darkness into the light of Christ.
To pull away and pray means that we allow God to change our thoughts and actions to be more about Him. In doing so, our attention and focus is on God’s redeeming work and we will give Him all the glory.
To pull away and pray means that we trust God to draw our loved ones to Himself in His perfect timing. In doing so, we have peace in our hearts that He will work everything for our good because He is faithful.
Dear Lord, help me to pull away and pray more for my loved ones. I know You have them in Your hand—increase my faith. In Jesus name, amen.
