And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
We can pray about something every day and not see any fruits or changes. Yet as believers, we know that God hears our prayers. However, sometimes it seems like He isn’t moving as quickly as we would like. How can we know that our prayers are making a difference?
We know our prayers are making a difference because we pray in faith and not by what we see. It’s important for us to pray and then release to God how He will answer. He doesn’t always move in the way that we’d expect. Our prayers are one small part of God’s larger plan that affects way more than us and those we pray for on a daily basis.
We know our prayers are making a difference because God is changing and maturing us through the intercessory process. We are learning to trust Him more and patiently wait on His perfect timing. No one who prays intently and consistently remains the same. We begin to look more like Jesus, and our faith becomes stronger in His word.
We know our prayers are making a difference because the Holy Spirit will not let us give up. We may be tempted to move on to something else. However, the Spirit of God will quicken in our hearts the right prayer at the right time. His presence gives us the assurance that we are on the right track.
We know our prayers are making a difference because we press past how we feel or think and instead trust in God. Praying isn’t easy most of the time, but we know that He is faithful even when we are faithless. He won’t fail. Not now. Not ever.
Dear Lord, increase my faith in You so that my prayer life will continue to grow. I want to be found faithful in praying despite how things make look to my eyes. In Jesus’ name, amen.
