Once for All

And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:10

Many believers struggle with feeling completely forgiven for their sins. They know in their minds that they are forgiven—yet they constantly struggle with guilt and shame from their past. This can create a pattern of condemning thoughts that will keep them from experiencing the freedom of their salvation. While we can’t go back in our past and make everything right, we can experience the complete forgiveness that comes through Jesus Christ once for all.

Once for all means that Jesus died for our past, present, and future sins.
“For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God.”
(Romans 6:10)

Once for all means that our mind is free from condemnation.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)

Once for all means that our life in Christ is a second chance to do the right things.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

Once for all means that we have become new people in the Lord.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Once for all means that God has a better plan and purpose for our lives.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Once for all means that we can be forgiven and cleansed when we sin—after salvation.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

Prayer

Dear Lord, I know that You died once for all so that I can walk in the freedom of forgiveness and purpose. Help me to live out what I know to be true in Your word. In Jesus’ name, amen.
