You will call me ‘My Husband’
These days almost every popular TV show or movie will have a love scene. Young women are daily duped with these shows and music to believe that they need a man in order for everything to be right in the world. While there’s a place for true love and marriage for those who desire it, it’s not what is central to every single woman’s life.
A Christian woman can have a life without a man, without a boyfriend, without a husband. It’s not God’s will that His single daughters sit around all day waiting for a man to rescue them from their lives. Instead, God wants His daughters to be actively engaged in life and living with destiny on their minds every day when they wake up in the morning.
If she desires to be married one day, God will want her to be with someone who is compatible in the faith and with her destiny as a wife. He will provide a good man as she waits patiently on God, not passively but proactively involved in ministry and building the kingdom of heaven. When her earthly husband does come around, he will find a whole woman with whom to build a good life. A good Christian man is seeking out someone he can partner with and not someone whom he can save from a boring life.
While she waits, the Lord is her ‘Husband,’ and He will meet all of her spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. Anyone who thinks they need a man can look to the Lord, and He will take care of them. The Lord longs for single women to direct their attention to Him because He knows everything about their needs and will do whatever it takes to keep them on the right journey.
Dear Lord, I need a man, and that is You. Help me to desire You more than anyone else. I pray for strength when I feel weak in my faith in You. Amen.
