P – Put all of your trust in God.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
(Proverbs 3:5)
Perfect peace becomes ours when we place trust in God’s hand over our lives. Our trust in God is secured as we step out in faith in Jesus’ name.
E – Expect difficulty and pain in this life.
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33)
We live in a world of sin where peace continues to allude mankind. Yet, perfect peace can be ours because this world is not our home.
A – Anticipate God’s faithfulness.
“If we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13)
Perfect peace can be a part of our everyday life when we expect God to be faithful in our present and future as He has in our past. We have proven our unfaithfulness, yet He stays faithful.
C – Confess and repent of your sins.
“‘There is no peace,’ says the LORD, ‘for the wicked.’” (Isaiah 48:22)
Perfect peace can’t be a part of lives if we continue to live in sin. Yet, our confession and repentance will open the door for peace in our hearts even when chaos is all around us.
E – Engage in daily prayer and meditation of God’s word.
“As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” (2 Timothy 4:5)
As our relationship with God grows, our confidence in His word gives us renewed courage and strength. Peace overtakes our hearts because we are bonded with Him in prayer.
Dear Lord, I seek this perfect peace that only comes from You. Lead me in this way so that I can know and trust You every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
