Are they not all ministering spirits … ?

Hebrews 1:14

Many people make the mistake of praying or seeking out angels when we should only be seeking out God. True angels represent God and not themselves. Everything that angels from God say and do will line up perfectly with the word of God. Use A-N-G-E-L-S to understand biblical teaching about true angels of God:

A – Announce God’s word or judgment. (Luke 1:19, 26; 2:8-15; Revelation 14:6-11)
Angels brought good news to Zechariah about John the Baptist and Mary about Jesus as well as the shepherds on the night of Christ’s birth. However, they are also going to announce to the people of the earth of God’s impending judgment on those who don’t repent of their sins.

N – Never accept worship that is meant for God. (Revelation 19:10)
An angel was assigned to John as he recorded the extraordinary visions for the end times. John was so overwhelmed that he bowed down to worship the angel. Yet the angel forbade him to do so in keeping with the word of God.

G – Guard God’s people. (Exodus 14:19, 33:2; Daniel 12:1)
Michael, the great archangel, is especially sent to protect God’s chosen people in the last days. God will fulfill every promise He has made all the way to the end of time.

E – Encourage God’s people. (1 Kings 19:5-8, Daniel 10:18)
When Daniel saw an angel, he was weakened by a lack of food and the overwhelming presence of a heavenly body. The angel touched Daniel, and his strength was restored. Elijah received food from an angel that lasted him 40 days.

L – Lead God’s battle against the devil and his demons. (Daniel 10:13, 20; Jude 9; Revelation 12:7)
When Daniel was praying for an answer to his prayers, an angel was being held up in the heavens by Satan until Michael showed up. Michael and the angels will eventually kick Satan and his demons out of the heavens.

S – Strike out against the rebellious. (2 Kings 19:35, Acts 12:23)
Angels don’t hesitate to strike against those who seek to frustrate God’s plan. Angels are God’s ministers to deal with evil people who refuse to repent.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for the angels You have sent my way. I pray that You will keep my focus more on You than any spiritual beings. Amen.
