Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you.
Trials…none of us volunteer for them, but we all will have trials regardless of our age, background, culture, or even how long we’ve been followers of Jesus Christ. Trials are a part of our lives and the sooner we accept this truth—the quicker we begin to grow in our faith. Use the acronym T.R.I.A.L.S. to help you navigate your life journey.
T – Trust in God more than anyone or anything else.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
(Psalm 20:7)
R – Remember Jesus is the beginning and the end.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.
(Revelation 22:13)
I – Initiate prayer support.
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
(James 5:16)
A – Ask God for wisdom through your trials.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (James 1:5)
L – Let go of fear, doubt, and worry.
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
(2 Timothy 1:7)
S – Stand on the promises of God.
For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.
(2 Corinthians 1:20)
As uncomfortable as trials are in our lives—they grow us up and test our faith so that we move into spiritual maturity.
Dear Lord, it’s my desire that this trial help me grow closer to You. Strengthen me in my heart, mind, and spirit. In Jesus’ name, amen.
