In Psalm 27 we discover how the psalmist struggled with wicked enemies and foes, military threats, and false witnesses. This psalmist even felt abandonment from his family. He turned to God for his refuge and the Lord delivered him. He wrote about the potential of losing heart unless he believed that God would be good to him now. There are many times when we feel the same way—struggling with conflict and rejection. As much as we look forward to heaven, we also wonder if our lives on earth will always be with strife and trouble. Yet God gives us hope—hope that we will see His goodness even now.
Dear Lord, I believe that I will see your goodness in my lifetime. Give me the courage and strength of heart to get through the difficult days as I know better ones are coming. In Jesus’ name, amen.
