The devil can tempt, deceive, or trick us into doing his plans. But he can’t make us do anything—we are creatures of choice and we can choose what we do or don’t do. Some of us make good choices not because we are good—but because we don’t want to take the chance of getting caught and having to deal with our consequences.

As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we have choices. Satan, the world, nor the flesh can make us sin. While we still live in this sinful world—we are called out to walk in obedience to God’s word, not by our own power and ability…but by His power within us.

Prayer

Dear Lord, I pray for the power of God to keep me from fulfilling the temptations of the devil, the world, and my flesh. In Jesus’ name, amen.
