For years I struggled with my own self-awareness of who I was in Christ. I didn’t think I was good enough, looked good enough, was smart enough, etc. However, one day I listened to a speaker describe how each one of us was uniquely designed by God for His purposes. It was a defining moment for me that opened the door to becoming the writer, speaker, and Bible teacher that I am today.
Many of us underestimated the power and influence of God over our lives. If we would take more time to spend with Him in prayer and His word, we discover our royalty in the body of Christ. As a member of the royal family of God, we have everything we need to build the kingdom of Christ:
Royal Footsteps: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Romans 10:15) As we take the steps of faith to witness to family and friends, we share with them the good news that they also can become sons and daughters of the King.
Royal Clothing: “For he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness.” (Isaiah 61:10) Our clothing denotes our royalty and ability to come before God because we’ve been forgiven and cleansed through Jesus Christ.
Royal Crown: “Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:8) When we fight the good fight of faith every day, we will receive the crown of righteousness.
Royal Treasures: “But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” (2 Corinthians 4:7) The treasure within us is the Holy Spirit who leads and guides us into all truth.
Dear Lord, I want to walk in the royalty that brings glory to Your name. Help me to live each day as royalty representing the King of kings and Lord of lords. In Jesus’ name, amen.
