Many times, we are tossed by the fears of this world. Fear of losing our jobs, fear of physical disabilities, fear of losing loved ones, etc. Yet, God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of love, power, and sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) At some point in our relationship with God, we need to embrace the truth that He is our keeper.
He makes sure that we are never alone. (Hebrews 13:5) He provides what we need when we need it. (Philippians 4:19) He secures our safety and peace of mind. (Philippians 4:6-8) He restores healing and grace in the midst of brokenness. (Psalm 30:2) He gives us new mercies every morning. (Lamentations 3:23) He renews our strength when we are weak. (Isaiah 40:31)
God is our Keeper because we can’t keep ourselves. How many times have we got ourselves into a terrible situation and our Keeper gets us out of it by His grace? We are always kept in His safety and knowledge. He keeps us when we are weak and laden down with temptation. By His grace, He provides a way out so that we don’t have to give into sin. As our Keeper, He protects us from ourselves.
When God is our Keeper—we have everything, we need in Him. Even when life gets difficult, we survive and press our way through because He will keep us. Our role is to cling to His word, embrace His promises, and follow Him with all of our hearts.
As we journey through life, we find our peace, hope, and faith secured in the Keeper of our souls. He is not only with us in this lifetime, but He’s with us when we leave this world. We can trust in the Keeper from beginning to end.
Dear Lord, I know that You are my Keeper. Lead me within Your will. In Jesus name, amen.
