It’s never feels good to start a blog or conversation about God with the word “no”. Yet, it’s the knowing the “no’s” that will create the best “yes” of our lives. The following 5 no-no’s are great encouragers towards living a great life:
No regrets on listening and following God’s voice.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)
If we listen and obey what God commands, we will have much less regrets about our decisions. God loves us so He leads us in the way that will bring the most fruit and joy out of our lives.
No missed opportunities for fear of failure.
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
Many of us only want to take a chance if we’re guaranteed success. However, many real-life accomplishments only happen after some failures at first. We must try even if we fail in order to eventually move forward.
No wasted time on useless things.
“So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.” (Romans 14:12)
The way we spend our free time has a significant influence on the path of life we follow. God wants us to enjoy life to the fullest without neglecting the spiritual values we have in Christ Jesus.
No broken relationships due to neglect or lack of forgiveness.
“See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.” (1 Thessalonians 5:15)
Friendships that have endured the test of time are most appreciated later in life. We should do everything we to maintain those special and unique relationships.
No putting God on the shelf.
“As it is said, ‘Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.’” (Hebrews 3:15)
Sometimes we can be deceived into thinking that we don’t need God because we’ve been successful in our endeavors. However, all of us are only one tragedy away from having life change forever. Stay close to God.
Dear Lord, I can’t make it without You. I pray for Your grace and mercy to lead me to the most fulfilling life I can have with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
