When I was married, I did everything I knew to do to protect it. I wasn’t the perfect wife, but I was faithful in spirit, mind, and body. It was never my thought nor intention to be divorced; yet this has become my path and I’ve learned to accept it over time. As I witness family members and friends marry, I want to do everything I can to help them protect their marriage. Divorce and separation are a heart wrenching experience that I would wish on no one.
Yet, it can happen to the very best of Christians if we don’t take the steps to protect marriage. Pride, temptation, discontentment, and vanity are always across the street waiting for the unwise spouse to step over into their deceit. A wise husband and wife recognize that marriage in God’s eyes is a lifetime covenant rich with blessings even though there are times it’s tested. P.R.O.T.E.C.T. your marriage by:

“Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us success!” (Psalm 118:25)
R – Recognizing that you both are being perfected in Christ and give grace.

E – Expecting the devil, the world, and the flesh to tempt your heart away from your spouse.
