It’s Your Journey

Since his days are determined, and the number of his months is with you, and you have appointed his limits that he cannot pass.

Job 14:5

A mother bird put her nest in good order only for someone to come along and flick the branch. Everything she loved and cared for went up in the air and was about to crash to the ground. Just like the mother bird, many of us struggle with sudden change to our lives.

Many times when we face difficulty, loss and discouragement, we want a do-over. We want to go back to the place where change was just being birthed and redo it so that our lives will remain constant and comfortable. While we don’t have control of our lives, we also aren’t at the mercy of circumstances and situations.

The Lord is in control of our life journey, including all the ups and downs. He determined the number of our days at our birth. We can’t live one minute longer or die one minute sooner than what God has ordained. Our lives aren’t aimlessly projected forward without meaning or purpose. Rather, God uses every single life-changing moment as a part of our specific journey.

When we relax and trust in the Lord for our future, we find peace, even when our lives have been turned upside down. The Holy Spirit gives us the courage to move forward in our life journey because it was never promised to be smooth and easy. However, we can learn and grow from the journey if we keep our focus on God and not the problems of life.

Our journey has meaning from the beginning to the end. We can fight the changes in our journey or we can accept the changes in the hope that God will use all things for our good.

Prayer

Dear Lord, I don’t always like the changes in my life. I recognize that my life journey is in Your hands. Help me to trust You regardless of the twist and turns of the journey. Amen.
