How to Raise the Bar of your Faith

Divider
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

If we aren’t careful, we can get complacent in our faith. We think a daily Bible reading, prayer, and church service on Sunday is just enough. While these are great things to do in the faith, there’s so much more in the life that God has called us to accomplish.
We only get one life to do this—in heaven we won’t need faith because we’ll see Him as He is, we won’t have to fight our flesh, temptation, nor Satan, and we won’t need to grow up spiritually because we will be spirit beings.
Therefore, in this life we have nothing to lose and everything to gain if we constantly challenge our faith in God to do great things in His name. I’m talking the impossible things—things that can only be explained as happening by the hand of God. This is a faith that is alive, exciting, and ready to take the challenge of living an extraordinary life. Let’s RAISE the bar of our faith:
R – Recognize that it’s God’s calling us to a greater measure of faith
He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it. (Hebrews 11:1)

A – Ask God for clarity and direction
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. (Isaiah 30:21)

I – Initiate our faith with action
For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead. (James 2:26)

S – Seek out scriptures that speak to our faith vision
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)

E – Expect difficulties, delays, and distractions along the way
Be not far from me, for trouble is near, and there is none to help. (Psalm 22:11)

Prayer

Dear Lord, I want to raise the bar of my faith in You and Your power to keep me, lead me, and empower me to do above and beyond what I could ask or expect. In Jesus’ name, amen.

In His Service,
