Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts!

Psalm 148:2

The angels in heaven must’ve been amazed that their precious Lord Jesus Christ would humble Himself to take on human flesh. Perhaps even more as He also went on to live under humble circumstances, to be tortured, ridiculed, and ultimately crucified for the sins of the world.
The angels are sent by God to minister to those who belong to Him (Hebrews 1:14). They protect us (Psalm 91:11), they send messages from heaven (Daniel 10:10, Luke 1:13, Luke 1:31, Acts 27:23), and they release prisoners of the Gospel (Acts 12:7).

While angels minister to God’s children, they aren’t to be worshipped by us.(Colossians 2:18, Revelation 22:8-9) Any angel that preaches a gospel different from Jesus will be cursed (Galatians 1:8) and Satan disguises himself as angel (2 Corinthians 11:4).

Angels are ministers of God and they are in His presence all the time (Luke 1:19). They worship and sing praises to the one and only Savior of the world (Revelation 5:11-14). They look in wonder at God’s dealings with the faithful (1 Peter 1:12). One day we will be like the angels clothed in the splendor of being in the presence of God. (Mark 12:25)

We aren’t to pray to angels, but to God who can send them to help us when we are in trouble or need encouragement. Believers are encouraged to entertain strangers as we may be doing our good for angels without knowing it. (Hebrews 13:2)

We can be like the angels when we worship and praise God with all of our hearts. The Lord is worthy of the praise from earth and heaven. One day we will join the angelic chorus in singing praises to our Lord!

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for sending angels to help me when I wasn’t aware of their presence. Help me to keep my focus on You more than any angelic being. In Jesus’ name, amen.

In His Service,
