Gotta have Faith

Have you ever been at the place of giving up? You’ve prayed as much as you could. You’ve learned as much scripture as you could. You’ve talked over your situation with your godly friends all you can. And yet when the rubber hits the road—you feel completely spent and unable to move forward.

It’s in those times we must pull ourselves together and remember that everything we do is by faith. Our jobs, relationships, families, schoolwork, etc. is by faith. We need faith to keep going when all seems lost. Our faith is ignited by what we know about God and His faithfulness through His word. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can be moved to get past our own doubts and fears to trust in God in spite of what we see in front of us.

Faith in God is what sets us apart from everything else. Those who love the world are motivated by money, fame, lust, and material things. Yet everything that motivates them is temporary and empty in the end. Our faith in the living God renews our strength and will always bloom into spiritual fruit even though we can’t always see it in the moment.

The nature of our faith is that we can’t see how everything is going to work out in the end. Yet we know that God has our future and a plan for our lives. We push ourselves to faith in Him without seeing Him because of the witness we have in our inner being. The presence of God is on our lives and readily apparent to those around us even if they don’t understand it.

Our greatest battle on this earth isn’t necessarily the world, the flesh, nor the devil. It’s the battle within our hearts to believe God above all else. It’s when we look to the heavens for our help comes from the Lord.

Prayer

Dear Lord, I get weak sometimes and I need to remember to dig deep in my faith in you so that I can move forward. Help me through the power of the Holy Spirit to increase my faith when all else seems to fail around me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
