A Love that Lasts

For his steadfast love endures forever.

Psalm 136:26

When we are hurt by those who are closest to us, there is the temptation to feel like we are unlovable. Some of us have been turned away and forsaken by our relatives, husbands, and children. In those times, the hurt is more than we could ever express in words. Yet we are loved most intensely by God whether we feel it or not.

God loved us so much that He sent His one and only Son to die so that we could have eternal life with Him. He loves us so much that He desires the best for us in every way. He loves us so much that He forgives every single sin we have committed and cleanses us from all unrighteousness. He loves us so much that He gives us new grace and mercy every single day.

Because of His love for us, we don’t have to live lives that are burdened down with guilt, fear, or shame. His love encompasses us so much that we are free to be everything that He created us to be. We are overcomers, victorious over sin, new creations, a royal priesthood, and of course—daughters of the Creator because of God’s love for each one of us.

There is nothing that can ever separate us from the love of God. Paul writes it best in Romans 8:35, 38-39 “Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?…neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” We are secure in God’s love that lasts forever!

Prayer

Dear Lord, let me know the depth of your love for me every day so that I don’t believe the lies of the enemy. Grant me grace to know your love better. Amen.
