Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Not every single person wants to be married; yet, there are many singles who long to one day partner with a special person. Many singles begin with an idea of what they want their future spouse; however, it’s better to being with a look within their own hearts. Learn what God’s word for S.I.N.G.L.E.S. who long to be married:
S – Seek God first before looking for a spouse.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)
I – Initiate prayer warriors/prayer intercessors for accountability.
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. (James 5:16)
N – Never settle for less by choosing an unbeliever as a spouse.
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14)
G – Get the most of this single season of your life by enjoying it to the maximum.
This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:14)
L – Learn to love yourself so that you can truly love another.
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Matthew 12:30-31)
E – Examine your motives for wanting to make sure you understand marriage.
Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. (2 Corinthians 13:5)
S – Set yourself up for success not failure by choosing to be where God wants you.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Dear Lord, help me to live this season of singleness in such a way that You are honored and glorified. In Jesus’ name, amen.
