For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Have you ever had a season of your life when everything was flip-flopped where you couldn’t tell up from down, in from out, or right from left? It’s like your insides are ripping apart and you still need to keep a strong front for your family, work, and church/community service.
Even strong women of faith have moments of fragility. This is when you know that if someone looks at you sideways or says just the wrong thing at the wrong time, you may fall apart. It’s in these moments of fragility that you can turn completely over to God for strength to deal with your season of trial.
Sometimes we just need to get away to pray, even if it’s a walk to the car or around the block. Perhaps we need to use our time for lunch to call a trusted friend to pray for us. It’s a good time to talk to God about feeling weak and needing His strength to carry you through the day.
There is a reservoir of hope, peace, and love residing within each believer of Jesus Christ. We may feel we are on empty, and maybe we are empty from running in our own strength. Yet when we stop and pull on God’s grace and mercy to keep us, we find renewed energy and vigor through the power of the Holy Spirit to get through it.
Each daughter of King Jesus has been given the Holy Spirit, Who brings assurance of God’s presence and grace that gives us strength to move forward. Our moments of fragility may come and go throughout our lifetime, but the power of God is secure and strong enough to keep us when we turn to Him for help.
