Who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think.
Isn’t it amazing that God uses us to do His greatest work? He displays His power, glory, and grace through every single person who gives their heart completely to Him. We don’t deserve this great honor because we’ve fallen short many times. Yet He brushes off our mistakes, failures, and defeats to pick us up and keep us going.
Many people believe there is strength in numbers—this is true to an extent. The mystery of following God is that our numbers (that is, those who are with us) aren’t always readily apparent to the naked eye. God sends His angels as ministering spirits to help strengthen us when we are weak and to change the course of a situation without our involvement. The evidence of angelic intervention of God’s people is sprinkled throughout the Bible.
We also have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, Who inspires us towards achieving great accomplishments in Christ. The Holy Spirit will often stir up in our hearts an impossible dream. In our flesh, we can only respond with “no way this is ever going to work out.” Yet in the spirit, we know there is nothing impossible in God. The Lord will do exceedingly and abundantly far above what we ask or think.
The great things we accomplish in the Lord are only limited by our lack of faith. When we step back from our situation and look at it with God’s vision, we can’t help but move forward. However, if we look through the lens of doubt and fear, we will always fall short of the goal. Our part of the relationship is to simply trust in the hand of our loving Father to guide us in the right direction.
Dear Lord, I know that You’ve called me to accomplish great things in Your name right where I am in this season of my life. I pray for renewed hope and faith to move forward in spite of the obstacles. In Jesus’ name, amen.
